Throughout this blog you will find commentary on a variety of forms of communication: sermons, Bible passages, cultural metaphors, even advertisements. In order to understand the approach to metaphor and preaching offered here, a common denominator will be helpful. The articles in this section are designed to provide that common ground.

All metaphor theory has its own unique vocabulary. The terms and concepts used most often in these pages, like Source Domain, Target Domain, actantal model, or narrative structure, are featured in the Basic articles. You can read around some on this blog and certainly pick up most of the basic concepts, but the articles and presentations offered in this section make explicit the theory assumed by the blog proper.
